CHENNAI: The results and mark lists of all candidates who took The Hindu Education Plus - AIMS Education AIEEE Model examination last month will be displayed on Sunday (February 12).

A discussion session on the model examination paper will also be held on the occasion at Vani Mahal in T.Nagar (9-30 a.m.).

A performance analysis on the AIEEE Model Exam, which was sponsored by the Jaya Group of Institutions, reveals that most of the candidates have taken the test with utmost seriousness.

While 3,912 candidates took the exam, computer-aided evaluation was done on 3,584 MSR-coded answer sheets, as in the real exam, with negative marking for wrong, unclear and multiple answers.

A total of 328 answer sheets were rejected for mistakes in candidates' basic particulars and in improper handling of the answer sheet, and 1,929 candidates scored 50 per cent or above.

Surprisingly, 44 candidates got net negative marks which should caution against answering questions by pure guessing.

The feedback from candidates, teachers and parents reveal that as expected in the actual exam, the model exam paper demanded a good understanding of the subject matter in Physics, Chemistry and Maths.

During Sunday's interaction, a team of professors and IITians will discuss the question paper, and give hints and strategies for effectively answering the actual AIEEE 2006 (to be held on April 30).

Top scores in the model test will get prizes and gift hampers.

AIMS Education will offer merit scholarship of Rs.1200 to the top 500 candidates for pursuing training with AIMS Education for AIEEE 2006. Jaya Group of Colleges will offer special privileges to the candidates of AIEEE 2006 Model Exam, who enrol in any of their institutions.

Students and parents can participate in the discussion.
