Traffic regulations for Mariamman Temple float festival today

Traffic on PTR bridge will be suspended from 3 p.m.

MADURAI : Vehicular traffic on the Kamarajar Salai and in areas around the Vandiyur Mariamman Temple will be regulated in view of the `float festival' on Saturday. Traffic on the PTR bridge will be suspended from 3 p.m. on the day.

In a statement, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), S. Davidson Devasirvatham, said that no vehicles would be allowed towards Teppakulam from the Kuruvikaran Salai after 3 p.m. Vehicles bound for Ramanathapuram should take the Sivaganga Road from Kuruvikaran Salai to reach the Ramanathapuram road. Similarly, vehicles coming from Ramanathapuram should take the Sivaganga Road to reach the city.

Four-wheelers parking arrangement has been made on the new road laid along the southern bank of the Vaigai. Two wheelers should be parked in Pankajam Colony, Thyagarajar Colony, and Venkatapathy Iyengar lane. Vehicles coming via Viraghanoor could be parked in Iravathanallur areas. No vehicles will be allowed to park on Kamarajar Road and around Teppakulam.
