School to hold technical symposium

Aims at creating awareness on recent developments in science

Coimbatore: To create awareness on the recent developments in science among students of Class XI, Lisieux Matriculation Higher Secondary School will organise Lisieux Schola Search 2006 on its premises on February 11.

From over 100 entries received from 243 Government and Management of Higher Secondary Schools in the district, 46 entries are short-listed for presentation in fourcategories namely Mathematics (M), Physical Sciences (PS), Natural Sciences (NS) and Communication and Information.

The presentation will be in English and Tamil.

The management advisor (R&D) of Lakshmi Machine Works Ltd will inaugurate the symposium.

Cash prizes

Cash awards of Rs. 5,000, Rs. 3,000 and Rs. 1,000 will be given away to the first, second and third prize-winners respectively. Five consolation prizes (Rs. 500 each) will be given.

The Editor of Kalaikathir and Wide Spectrum and reader in Botany, PSG College of Arts and Science, K. Mani, will deliver the valedictory address.
