AIDS detection centre at Nellore hospital soon

Nellore: Minister of State for Health and FamilyWelfare Panabaka Lakshmi has said that an AIDS detection centre will be set up at the Government Maternity Hospital, Nellore, on Saturday.

The Minister who was on a `surprise' visit to the institution, received a number of representations and assured that such a centre will be provided for the convenience of patience. She advised the doctors and staff not to give scope for criticism and render proper service to patients, particularly those belonging to weaker sections of society.

Later at Velpuru village of Dagadarthi mandal, the Minister inaugurated 27 taps set up at a cost of Rs. 5 lakhs for providing direct water supply.

She informed that 16 ambulances have been sanctioned for the district, to provide emergency health care in rural areas.
