At a press conference, Cochin Devaswom Board president M.A. Krishnanunni said that the sanctum sanctorum would be opened for Makam Darsan at 2 p.m. and devotees could have darsan till 9 p.m. He said that there was earlier some confusion among the devotees on the date of Makam as Makam falls on two separate days this month. The entry for women would be through northern door. However, a queue would be arranged at the school ground on the western side. Queue for men and families would begin at Northern Ground and entry would be through the Balippura on the eastern side. He said that more pandals and barricades and lights would be put up. Buttermilk and snacks would be distributed to devotees standing in queues. The service of doctors and ambulance had also been ensured. Besides, all devotees had been insured. The board president said that more toilets had also been set up. According to him, the KSRTC authorities and the Private Bus Operators Association had been requested to ply buses late into night.
