CHENNAI: Jo desh ke kaam na aaye woh bekaar jawani hai (They who come of no use to the country are a waste of youth) ... The youth of IIT turned up in full strength to catch the opening lines of the much acclaimed Rang De Basanti during a special screening of the director's cut, organised at the Open Air Theatre. Music director A.R. Rahman was instrumental in arranging the show and giving an opportunity for the youth to interact with director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, producer Ronnie Screwvala and stars Madhavan and Siddharth. The students greeted the patriotic lines from the film with whistles and sometimes even silence as they watched the powerhouse performances of the stars of the most socially relevant movie for the youth in recent times. As the movie continued late into the night, the students waited for their turn to interact with the filmmaker.
