KOCHI: The April 6 One-day international in Kochi, between India and England, will just be a day affair. Though the Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) is keen to have a day-night match and is prepared to work on the floodlights at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium here, the BCCI Executive Secretary Ratnakar Shetty, who inspected the match venue on Sunday, virtually ruled out its chances. "As it stands now, we can't take a chance. No centre should get criticism (from the visiting team)," said Mr. Shetty, who inspected the stadium along with the former international umpire S.K. Bansal. "But the KCA is keen on rectifying the lights at the stadium (which was basically built for football). So if there is a possibility, then a practice match will be played and then the BCCI Tours and Fixtures Committee will decide on it," he said.
