CHENNAI: "The All-India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam is afraid of facing the Assembly election on its own and that is why the party general secretary and Chief Minister Jayalalitha has said that the party's doors were open to political parties for an alliance," the Union Minister of State for Project Implementation and State Congress Committee president G.K.Vasan said here on Sunday. Talking to newsmen, Mr.Vasan said the AIADMK was desperate to break the Democratic Progressive Alliance. But her attempts would fail as the constituents of the DPA were firm on fighting the election unitedly to remove the AIADMK Government. Mr.Vasan said Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Youth Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would participate in meetings to mobilise support for party candidates for the Assembly election. When newsmen asked whether there would be any change in State leadership of the party, Mr.Vasan said it was the high command that normally took decisions on party office-bearers.
