HYDERABAD: Tourism Minister J. Geeta Reddy has underlined the need for using magic as an education tool and a potent weapon to wipe out superstitions. She was speaking after inaugurating `Mayajaal 2006,' the annual Magicians' Day celebrations of the Andhra Pradesh Magic Academy here on Sunday.
Budding magicians
The day saw the entire magicians' community of the State converge on Indira Priyadarshini Auditorium, not to forget the budding magicians to regale audiences. There were competitions for juniors, besides lectures on conjuring the best tricks.
Best teaching mode
Renowned magician B.V. Pattabhiram said learning in schools would not be drudgery if the element of magic were introduced into the teaching modules. The science of magic, he said, could be the best teaching mode as it appealed to the children the most. Marri Ramesh, convener, Mayajaal 2006, spoke. Prominent magicians Ali, Cardician, Marri Ramesh, M. Uday Bhaskar, Mr. Cho, Stick Manohar, Pradeep Rangrez and others had people enthralled with their slick handiwork.
