FORGET THE BLUES: Nischal Narayanam with his Math Lab
HYDERABAD: Nischal Narayanam, 10-year-old mathematics whiz kid who enthralled experts with his abilities at a `Ganithavadhanam' last year, has come up with a maths made-easy kit. Called `Nischal Math Lab,' the kit, comprising 270 components, including six volumes of books, will be released here on February 16. It is being brought out by Pioneer House and will be released by Assembly Speaker K.R. Suresh Reddy. Speaking to presspersons here on Sunday, Nischal said the kit has reading material and equipment that helps in better understanding of geometry, two and three-dimensional shapes, measuring material and fraction models. It is aimed at helping primary students chase away the maths phobia, according to the fifth class student of Gitanjali School. "While preparing for the avadhanam, I came across several principles and techniques on the subject. Blending them all, I brought out this first-of-its-kind lab," Nischal said. Math lab, priced at Rs.7,990, would be made available for schools on instalments, said Chitra Narayan of Pioneer House.
