Disasters information

system to be launched

Union Minister of Science and Technology and Ocean Development Kapil Sibal will launch the Natural Disasters Information System (NDIS) pilot project on the Whitefield campus of Geneva Software Technologies Limited (GSTL) here on Monday.

Cultural festival

The Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan and the Infosys Foundation will organise a cultural festival, "Shishira Darshana", at the Bhavan's South Centre, Bull Temple Road, Basavanagudi this month. While Raichur Sheshagiridas will present devotional music on February 15, Pandit Ananth Kulkarni will present light music on February 16. Cine artiste Umesh will present "Nagemallige Drushyavaligalu" on February 25. The programmes begin at 6 p.m. Invitations are available at the Bhavan's South Centre.

Mayor to be felicitated

The Al-Ameen Arts, Science and Commerce will felicitate Mayor Mumtaz Begum on Tuesday in the city. Ms. Begum studied in the Al-Ameen College. Syed Sadaqath Peeran, Chairman of Al-Ameen Education Society, will preside over the felicitation programme to be held on the college premises.

Applications invited

for research

Applications are invited for the post of project assistant for a research project entitled "Geo-botanical Surveys in the mineralised areas of southern Karnataka" of the Department of Geology, Bangalore University, from persons holding a first class M.Sc, a degree in geology, applied geology, earth science, botany or plant science.
