Couple attempts suicide
Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD:
Reportedly worried over being childless, a couple attempted suicide by consuming poison in their house at Achaiahnagar of Chikkadpally on Saturday night.
J. Narsimha Reddy, 40, and his wife J. Padma, have been shifted to a private hospital. Doctors said they were out of danger. According to Chikkadpally Inspector V.N.V. Satyanarayana, a note purportedly written by the couple and seized from their bedroom hinted that they wanted to end their lives since they did not have children.
A private firm employee, Reddy was in the habit of waking up early in the morning. But his relatives, who live adjacent to him, grew suspicious when the couple did not come out even after 8 a.m.
"The relatives forced open the doors and saw the couple lying unconscious on the bed and rushed them to a nearby hospital," the Inspector explained. No case has been registered.
