NAMAKKAL: The right education should make students sincere, hardworking and intelligent in their chosen profession, Vice-Chancellor of the Periyar University T. Balakrishnan said. Delivering the convocation address at the Selvam Arts and Science College here on Sunday, he said education in the modern world was having multiple objectives, which included developing the personality of students as a whole and preparing them for the future. Mr. Balakrishnan said students had to develop certain social and economic commitment. On the campus, students had to devote their entire attention to their studies and after entering into the professional life they should contribute to the building of the country. Chairman of the Selvam Educational Institutions Dr. P. Selvaraj presided over the function. Principal Maria Arulraj welcomed. About 200 graduates were awarded degrees in the convocation.
