Oommen Chandy back in office

Special Correspondent

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, who was recuperating after surgery for a hipbone fracture, resumed work on Monday.

The Chief Minister came to the Secretariat in the morning and spent about two hours in his office.

He had attended a United Democratic Front meeting on Friday. Mr. Chandy would not be attending the ongoing Assembly session, as it would be difficult for him to stand up. He still needs support for walking.

It will take a month more for him to fully recover from the injury suffered following a fall on ice at Davos in Switzerland.

Finance Minister Vakkom Purushothaman was officiating in his absence.
