HYDERABAD: A month-and-a-half-long budget session of Assembly will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday with the maiden address by in-charge Governor Rameshwar Thakur. The budget session is expected to be stormy with Opposition gearing up to raise a number of issues. The all- important budget will be presented by Finance Minister K. Rosaiah on February 20. Midway during the session, the MLAs will elect six Rajya Sabha members besides the Deputy Speaker of the House. On the first day, the House will be adjourned after the Governor's address and the second day, after paying homage to the the late Dronamraju Satyanarayana, who represented Vizag-I constituency. The session is likely to be fiery for more than one reason. The ruling party would face a tougher time now as its relations with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and the Left have soured further. They could join the main opposition, the Telugu Desam Party to put the Government in the dock on various issues. The TDP is bound to raise the issue of neglect of Telangana - a fall out of the "padayatra" undertaken in the region by its Telangana leaders.
