The India-China Friendship Association arranged a variety entertainment at the Museum Theatre in Madras on February 13 in honour of the visiting Chinese cultural delegation. The members enjoyed the entertainment which included among other things Bharatanatyam, folk songs, kummi and kolattam. Madam Yu Ying, a member of the delegation, gave a demonstration of sword dance which was much appreciated. Dr. S.T. Narasimhan, president of the India-China Friendship Association, welcoming the members, said the visit would promote greater understanding between the two countries. Mr. Wu Han, leader of the delegation, replying, said it was only through exchange of cultural delegations that the people of one country could better understand the people of another. The members of the delegation visited the Madras Institute of Technology, Chromepet, Integral Coach Factory, Perambur, and Vidyodaya High School for Girls.
