Minister seeks rail service from Chamrajnagar to Sathy

Elangovan lays foundation for post office

ERODE: About Rs. 4 crores was granted to construct school buildings in Gobichettipalayam Parliament Constituency in the last one-and-a-half years, and more funds would be sanctioned to improve education, the Union Minister of State for Textiles E.V.K.S. Elangovan said.

At Rs. 25 lakhs

He laid the foundation on Monday for a new post office at Punjaipuliampatty to be constructed at Rs. 25 lakhs and said that the construction would be over in six months.

He sought rail services from Chamrajnagar to Sathyamangalam, from Sathyamangalam to Erode via Gobichettipalayam, and from Sathyamangalam to Mettur via Anthiyur.

Plan welcomed

Welcoming the launch of OneIndia plan, the Minister said that the move would enable individuals to make calls to any place in the country at just Re. 1 a minute.

The Coimbatore Regional Director of Post Offices Rajarajan and the Coimbatore West Regional General Manager K.V. Sundararaj spoke.
