Memories of a scribe

For Vayalar Ravi, Union Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs, the recent visit to Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit was a journey back in time. "I was only trying to recollect what I had seen when I came here first to prepare a news story on the birthplace of Adi Sankara. I was then working as a part-time reporter for Deccan Herald, to meet my educational expenses," he said.

But much to his dismay, Mr. Ravi could not find the present status of Kalady matching to the one he had in his memories.
