`Chandranilekkoru Vazhi' bags John Abraham award
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
Biju Varkey's `Chandranilekkoru Vazhi' has bagged the 8th John Abraham award for the best Malayalam feature film in 2005. The award, instituted by the Federation of Film Societies, Kerala, carries a purse of Rs.10,000, a citation and plaque.
`Kanne Madanguga' bagged the special jury award for the best feature film. Nedumudi Venu won special jury awards for his performance in `Thanmatra' and `Nottam,' and Jagathy Sreekumar for `Nottam.'
Federation chairman Surya Krishnamoorthy told newspersons here on Tuesday that renowned filmmaker John Abraham made movies to convey a message rather than tell a story.
The awards will be given away in Kozhikode on May 30, said society officials. Director Vipin Mohan was also present.
