A glimpse into world of dance-theatre

Delhiites will get an opportunity to glimpse into dance-theatre work by Navtej Johar and Ensemble in collaboration with Sufi scholar-lyricist-composer Madan Gopal Singh at Kamani Auditorium in the Capital on Thursday evening.

Presented by Shriram Bharatiya Kala Kendra, Navtej Johar's choreography freely traverses from the traditional to the avant-garde.

Johar, who trained in Bharartanatyam at Kalakshetra, Chennai, and the Shriram Kala Kendra, New Delhi, and studied performance theory at the Department of Performance Studies, New York University, has given sterling performances at prestigious venues all over the world. He has also had an extended tenure in prominent modern dance companies in the US and has several successful international collaborations to his credit. — Bindu Shajan Perappadan
