Rupee rallies
MUMBAI:
Despite a broader strong dollar and some suspected central bank intervention, the rupee rallied smartly from overnight three-week lows to close at Rs. 44.2150/2250 a dollar, driven-up by sustained FII inflows and increased export proceeds with the outlook positive due to sliding crude oil prices.
In yet another session of quiet and range-bound trade at the interbank foreign exchange (forex) market, the rupee recovered by nearly five paise from yesterday's 3-week closing lows of Rs. 44.26/27 a dollar following a firm opening slot of Rs 44.24/25.
