Lahore : The mercurial Shahid Afridi has been ruled out of the last two ODIs in the Hutch series. The all-rounder aggravated an injury to his ribs while bowling during the Indian innings at the Gaddafi Stadium on Monday. Afridi's injury is expected to take at least two weeks to heal. No replacement for him has been announced. Pakistan is already without its pace spearhead Shoaib Akhtar, who according to sources close to the Pakistan camp, is suffering from a stress fracture of his left ankle. Mohammed Sami has taken his place for the matches in Multan and Karachi. Akhtar is a doubtful starter for Pakistan's tour of Sri Lanka in March as well. Meanwhile, Pakistan captain Inzamam-ul-Haq has been fined ten per cent of his match fee by match referee Chris Broad. Pakistan sent down one over less than the prescribed over rate in the third one-dayer against India. Inzamam's men had to forfeit five per cent of their match fee.
Team selection
PTI reports: The Indian selection Committee will meet in Baroda on February 23 to pick the Indian squad for the first cricket Test against England to be played in Nagpur next month. "We will meet on the first day of the England vs. Board President's XI match at Baroda," committee chairman Kiran More said in Multan on Tuesday.
