GUNTUR: A farmer committed suicide by hanging himself from the roof in his own house in Chintalacheruvu village of Nuzendla mandal of Guntur district in the early hours of Tuesday. The 60-year-old paddy farmer was identified as Pangiti Venkaiah, 60, who had Rs.2.5 lakhs of loans and owned 4.5 acres of land. The paddy yield came down this year due to pest attack.
