NEDUMBASSERY: A 35-year-old man's body was found hanging from the ceiling fan of a hotel room near the Nedumbassery airport on Tuesday morning. The deceased had been identified as Shine of Varkala.

Hoteliers' plea

KOZHIKODE: The Kerala Hotel and Restaurant Owners Association has said that the financial burden on hoteliers has been increasing because of the hike in price of cooking gas at regular intervals.

A meeting of the association, presided over by its president N.B. Krishna Kurup, here on Tuesday, appealed to the Centre to withdraw the hike failing which hotel owners would have no other option than to introduce a rise in the price of food items served.

KOZHIKODE: Canara Bank, Mavoor Road branch, recently conducted a quiz for high school students as part of the bank's centenary celebrations. The team from NSS HS, Meenchanda, comprising Anand Jayakrishnan and Midhun Mohan won the first prize, while Arjun Sankar and Gautam Jayasurya representing Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1, East Hill, won the second prize and P.
