`Contractors bills pending'

Staff Correspondent

Those identified with Congress targeted, charges Shivaram

Charges
  • Officials acting at Revanna's behest
  • Bills amounting to Rs. 12 crores not cleared

HASSAN: The former Information Minister B. Shivaram on Tuesday alleged that the former Public Works and Energy Minister H.D. Revanna had directed the authorities in both the departments not to clear the bills of contractors identified with the Congress.

He also said bills amounting to Rs. 12 crores for completed works are pending and the authorities concerned are refusing to clear them. He urged Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy to intervene and see that the bills are cleared.

Speaking to presspersons here, Mr. Shivaram urged Mr. Kumaraswamy to suspend the Chief Engineer and Superintending Engineer of the Public Works Department for acting at the behest of Mr. Revanna.

Accusing the former Prime Minister and Janata Dal (Secular) President, H.D. Deve Gowda, of "stabbing the Congress in the back," he said the Janata Dal (S) leader had deceived the former Chief Minister N. Dharam Singh, who had reposed faith in the secular credentials of Mr. Deve Gowda.
