Rs. 1.62 crores given away to 5,258 farmers

Dharmapuri: The State Government has disbursed Rs. 1.62 crores under the Farmers Security Scheme to 5,258 beneficiaries in Dharmapuri district. A special drive will be held on February 15 and 16 to provide applications at the doorsteps of small and marginal farmers and agricultural labourers who have enrolled their names under the scheme, said Collector M. Chandrasekaran here on Tuesday.

The applications will be filled on the spot and scrutinised immediately to provide welfare assistance under various categories including compensation for accident or natural deaths, marriage allowance for family members and old age pension.
