Global meet on pharma research from March 15

The meet to explore areas for global strategic partnerships in R & D

HYDERABAD: A three-day global conference on "Pharmaceutical research and development efficiencies" is being organised from March 15 at Ramoji Film City near here by Kasyap Technologies and Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (IICT).

The conference is being organised to forge strategic partnerships in the context of the pharma industry facing declining R & D productivity, increasing competition and advancement in technology that enables R & D productivity and dynamics leading to structural changes.

J.S. Yadav, IICT Director, and J.S.R. Durga Prasad, Chairman, Kasyap Technologies, told reporters here on Tuesday that the conference would explore possibilities of collaboration in R & D, establishing subsidiary units and outsourcing with Indian entities. It was committed to explore areas for global strategic partnerships in discovery of R & D value chain. P.M. Bhargava, Vice-Chairman, National Knowledge Commission, has been named chairman, conference advisory board.

500 delegates to attend

They said 500 delegates including 100 from abroad, were expected to attend the conference.
