KARIMNAGAR: The Bharatiya Janata Party district unit has decided to campaign for the cause of statehood for Telangana during their "Palle pilipu'' programme which would be held from February 25 to March 3. Disclosing this to newsmen here on Tuesday, BJP district president P Sugunakar Rao said that they would educate the people that the Congress and TRS had deceived the people of Telangana by seeking votes in the name of a separate State. He said that statehood for Telangana was only possible with the BJP, which is committed to its cause of smaller States.
TDP to be targeted
He also said that during their village visit programme, they would expose the "misdeeds" of the Central and State Governments on all fronts, irregularities in the execution of irrigation projects, increase in petroleum product prices, neglect of Telangana projects, RTC price hike and other farmer-related issues. He also said that they would also target the TDP for neglecting Telangana's projects. He said that during their village visit programmes they would invite the party's State leaders and cover at least 500 villages in the district. On the party's political training classes for leaders recently in the district, he said that the meeting had boosted the morale of the party leaders and it would go ahead with more enthusiasm in the forthcoming local body elections in the district.
