MANGALORE: Indian entrepreneurs should explore business opportunities in Australia both in terms of exports and investment, Don Cairns, Consul General, Australian Consulate General, Mumbai, said here on Tuesday. He was addressing members of the Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) at an interactive meet. Mr. Cairns said that Indian exports to Australia in the last three years have accounted for 1.1 billion Australian dollars, but exports have remained stagnant for the past three years. Many factories in the textile, machinery and leather sectors have closed down in Australia in recent years. He said India has a large English-speaking population and the laws are more suitable for to boost trade. J.P. Menezes, Vice-President, KCCI, spoke on the investment potential of the coastal area particularly of Mangalore. M.R.
