Government urged to recognise Eelam

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: The Eelam Tamils' Protection Conference held by the Dalit Panthers here on Tuesday appealed to the Government of India and the world democratic forces to recognise Tamil Eelam, to ensure rehabilitation of Sri Lankan Tamils.

The resolution moved by the general secretary of the Dalit Panthers, Thol. Thirumavalavan, was seconded by Dravidar Kazhagam president K. Veeramani and other Eelam supporters. The meet also urged the Indian Government to adopt the United Nations Charter with regard to providing relief to the Lankan Tamil refugees in the country. The conference flayed the United States for extending support to the Sri Lankan Government.
