VISAKHAPATNAM: The city has witnessed two high profile events in the recent past. One is the just concluded President's Fleet Review and the other the Visakha Utsav in January. For both the events, the Beach Road was the centrestage. The decked-up road with dazzling illumination drew lakhs of people to both the events. However, some loose ends appear to be crying for attention. The electric cables sticking out on the Beach Road is one of them. The sight is really frightening with fairly big cables protruding from near lamp posts. The cables are found close to the venue of the President's Fleet Review. Picture shows the cables out in the open.

One does not know the damage that can be caused to the cables but knows for sure the danger it can cause. The Beach Road is frequented by countless visitors from several parts of the State all through the year. It would be difficult for a crowd enjoying itself to take note of the surroundings and probably a lurking danger.
