KOCHI: Four members of a family were found dead at their house at Edavanakkad on Tuesday morning. The bodies of Puthuparambil Kumaran (71), a fisherman, his wife Omana (67), son Prakasan (39) and daughter Shylaja (34) were found hanging from the roof in different rooms of the house, the police said. The youngest son Prasad was not at home when the incident happened. He discovered the bodies in the morning. No suicide note has been found yet. Based on the statement given by Prasad, the police said that the family must have taken their lives as he could not find a job and due to the delay in getting Shylaja married off. A post-mortem examination was conducted on the bodies at the Government Hospital, Njarakkal, and cremated at the Murukkumpadam crematorium in the evening.
