Youth found dead in well

Thiruvananthapuram:
A 27-year-old youth who was missing from his house was found dead in a well at Karakulam on Tuesday evening. Menu had been reported missing from his house since morning. By evening, the Fire and Rescue Services were alerted to the presence of a body in the Karakulam panchayat well.
Family members identified the deceased.
Attacked
A 34-year-old panchayat member was injured in an attack by a gang near the Chiravila junction in Venjaramoodu police station limits on Tuesday night.
The police said Sunil, a member of the Nellanad panchayat committee, was riding his two-wheeler when the assailants pursued him on their motorbikes and blocked his way. They attacked him and fled the scene. Sunil was rushed to Medical College Hospital. Hospital sources said the injuries were not serious.
