Thiruvananthapuram: A Shiv Sena demonstration against Valentine's Day celebrations took a violent turn in the city on Tuesday evening. According to the police, a group of 50 Sena volunteers tore a poster placed outside a shop selling greeting cards and gifts near Pulimoodu junction. A strong police force was deployed along Mahatma Gandhi Road to prevent any violence. The Vanchiyoor police said no case had been registered in connection with the incident. "The shop owner is yet to give us any complaint," an official said. The Sena took out the march around 5.30 p.m. without getting prior sanction from the City Police Commissioner. <167,8p,1>The shop manager, P.R. Riyakumar, said he had received a threat from unidentified persons two days ago and had informed the police.
