John Abraham award announced
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
Biju Varkey's `Chandranilekkoru Vazhi' has bagged the 8th John Abraham award for the best Malayalam feature film in 2005.
`Kanne Madanguga' bagged the special jury award for the best feature film. Nedumudi Venu won special jury awards for his performance in `Thanmatra' and `Nottam,' and Jagathy Sreekumar for `Nottam.'
Rs.21.98 crores for district panchayat
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
A sum of Rs.21.98 crores has been earmarked for the district panchayat in the State budget, the president, Anavoor Nagappan, said. Of this, plan funds amounted to Rs.17.47 crores and grants, Rs.4.51 crores. He was addressing the panchayat committee meeting here on Tuesday. — Special Correspondent
