dated February 16, 1956: Storm across face of sun

A storm raging across the face of the sun is expected to affect the strength of radio signals throughout the world, an expert at the Air Force Observatory in Sacramento Peak (New Mexico) has reported. Mr. Howard Dmastus of Harvard University said 61 sun spots, three of them larger than the earth, showed how the storm was raging. It was one of the greatest for years. It started on February 10 and reappeared on February 13. The scientist is attached to the observatory by his university.
