KADAPA: Bharatiya Janata Party will tour villages under Praja Pilupu programme from February 25 to March 3 to ascertain the extent of basic amenities provided to the people, BJP district Secretary V.V. Chalapathi said on Wednesday. Addressing a press conference at Badvel he lamented that farmers incurred crop loss due to deficient rainfall earlier and excessive rain subsequently and demanded expeditious payment of compensation. He lamented undue delay in payment of compensation though ryots failed to get back their investment. He wanted ration cards issued to all eligible families, particularly to the downtrodden and weaker sections. Demanding revival of Antyodaya scheme implemented during NDA rule, he sought steps to ensure that Government welfare schemes reached the deserving poor. He accused Congress functionaries of cornering benefits under the schemes. BJP's Badvel Assembly segment unit convenor N. Venkateswarlu demanded speedy completion of roadwork on Porumamilla road in Badvel town. Gopavaram mandal unit president Narasimhulu, secretary Ramanaiah and party leaders Gurusekhar, Mahabub Basha and Venkatasubbaiah also took part.
