ANANTAPUR: The Itukalapalli circle police on Wednesday arrested a person allegedly involved in 31 housebreaking cases and other thefts at Linganapalli cross on the NH-7. The police recovered more than one kg of gold jewellery and other booty costing some Rs. 10 lakhs. Giving the details to newspersons, Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar Jain stated that the specialty of the thief was that he had been committing the crime single handed. A farmer, B. Amarnath, 22, of Uppunesinapalli village in Dharmavaram rural mandal had allegedly committed thefts in Dharamavaram, Rapthadu, Bathalapalli, Ramagiri, Anantapur and Narpala mandals. He had committed all thefts during the last three months itself and in the broad daylight.
