KOLKATA: Sixth-seeded Naina Karsolia of Uttar Pradesh shocked the second seed Rohini Das in the women's singles quarterfinals of the Central Excise Open grasscourt tennis tournament here on Wednesday. Top-seeded Ragini Vimal got past the fifth seed Shilpi Jaiswal in straight sets. Unseeded Devanshi Rajgharia continued her giant-killing spree, ousting eighth-seeded Shashirekha of Karnataka. In the men's pre-quarterfinals, top seed Vinod Sridhar and second seed Kamala Kannan, both from Tamil Nadu, progressed easily. The results: Men: Singles (pre-quarterfinals): Vinod Sridhar (TN) bt Jagdish Tanwar (Raj) 6-2, 6-2; Anshuman Dutta (Asm) bt Manoj K.
