Pakistan ratifies SAFTA

ISLAMABAD:
Pakistan on Wednesday ratified the South Asia Free Trade Agreement (SAFTA), which was originally scheduled to be operationalised from January 1.
The Pakistan Cabinet ratified the regional trade pact at a meeting presided by Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz. The delay to ratify the pact triggered speculation in the media about differences within the Government on the formal seal of approval.
