NEW DELHI: Those who have given up on the old-fashioned value of honesty now have reason to think again. While most people give up hope of finding a mobile phone once they've left it behind and do not go back to look for it, a Central Industrial Security Force constable has proved that honesty still exists by returning a bag with a laptop computer and Rs. 50,000. It all happened this past Monday evening when a passenger travelling to Bangalore on an Indian airline flight IC 403 left his bag behind. The bag, which contained a laptop computer and Rs, 50,000 in cash, was left unattended at Terminal 1A of the Delhi airport for a while. Constable Pavan Subba, who was on duty, found the bag and then went on to make an announcement. With no one coming forward to claim the bag for some time, he was on his way to the Airport Manager's office to deposit the bag -- which is standard operating procedure for all lost objects -- when a passenger came forth to claim it. After making all the due verifications, the bag was handed over to the claimant.
