Two-day vocational job fair from today

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State Vocational Higher Secondary Education (VHSE) is organising a two-day `Vocational Expo-2006' at the Bhagyamala Auditorium, Chandrasekharan Nair Stadium, from Friday.

The event will feature talks by experts on the role of the vocational education system in shaping the nation's future, an exhibition of working project models by students, a trade fair and a career fest. Education Minister E.T. Mohammed Basheer will inaugurate the expo.

On the first day, the Board of Apprenticeship Training, South Zone, Chennai, in association with the VHSE, will conduct a walk-in interview for students for internship opportunities in various companies.

As many as 100 vocational higher secondary schools and various departments will participate in the trade fair.

Water Resources Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan is scheduled to inaugurate the valedictory at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
