CONFED workers launch relay fast

PONDICHERRY: Staff of the Pondicherry State Coopertive Consumers Federation Limited (CONFED) launched a relay fast at Thattanchavady near here on Thursday in support of their charter of demands. A spokesman of the Association of CONFED Employees said the management should adopt a practical policy to post hands to manage its various outlets. They also demanded creation of new posts and removal of anomalies in pay structure. They wanted implementation of Assured Career Progression (ACP) for the employees who had completed 12 years and confirmation of workers engaged on daily wage basis. — Special Correspondent
