Jockeys fined

MYSORE: A. R. Mani, rider of River Nile, was fined Rs. 1,000 for coming in and causing interference to Little Genny (Ashwin Rao up), which in turn passed on to Steady Growth (Ranjeet Singh up) approaching the 1,000m in the Himalayas Plate (1,400m) run on Feb. 13. In the same race P. Krishna, rider of Asian, was fined Rs. 1,000 for changing course and causing interference to I Am Special (Jagadeesh up) approaching 150m.

In the Yamuna Plate (1,200m), V. R. Jagadeesh, rider of Brezza, was fined Rs. 1,000 for repeatedly changing course in the final stages of the race.

In the Charmudi Ghat Plate (Div. II) (1,600m), Arun Rao, rider of Flying Spur, was fined Rs. 1,000 for shifting course and causing interference to Vinu's Gold (A.Velu up) in the final 100m of the race. Shobhan Babu, rider of Spark Of Fire, was fined Rs.1,000 for excessive use of whip (first infringement) in the same race.

Ranjeet Singh, rider of Street Smart, in the Siachin Plate (1,400m) was fined Rs. 2,000 for shifting out and causing interference to Inquisitive (Arun Rao up) approaching 300m and thereafter shifting in causing interference to Soldier Of Fortune (I. Chisty up) during the final stages of the race.

In the Charmudi Ghat Plate (Div. I) (1,600m), B. L. Paswan, rider of Miss Crystal, was fined Rs. 2,000 for causing interference to Tauseef Ahmed astride Captivated on his inside, which in turn passed on to Syed Asgar (Fixed Dividend) approaching the 1,400m.

Jockey A. Velu was fined Rs. 2,000 for accepting two rides in the first division of the Tuticorin Plate. Trainer Sandhu was fined Rs. 2,000 for the faulty saddling of Grand Pere.

Suspension:

The Stewards of the Bangalore Turf Club considered the appeal filed by jockey Harish against the decision of the Stewards of the Mysore Race Club in suspending his Licence (Feb. 4 to 22) for dangerous riding on Braid Hills in the Ansbach Cup (1,200m) run on Jan. 25 and for his improper conduct towards his co-professional after the race. After deliberations, they have modified the Order of the Mysore Stewards in the effect of his suspension period from Feb. 13 to 24 (both days inclusive) for dangerous riding. They also considered the minutes of the meeting of the Stewards of the Mysore Race Club, for the misconduct of Harish towards his co-professional and decided to suspend him from Feb. 25 to March 25 (both days inclusive) and fine him Rs.10,000. Harish is not permitted to ride work during his suspension period.

Adam's trainer Nizamuddin, was fined Rs.5,000 for the improved performance of his charge (winner) in the Sangam Plate run on Feb. 1.

An enquiry has been opened into the running and riding of Heroines Fantasy, trained by Rakesh and ridden by Tauseef Ahmed in the Vijayawada Plate.

Jockey Shahbuddin (Marvel Star) was fined Rs. 2,000 for not making sufficient effort to improve his position till rounding the final bend in the Octogonal Trophy.

Jockeys Deep Shanker (Heros Friend) and Christopher (King's Pride) were fined Rs.1,000 and Rs 3,000 respectively for the excessive use of whip in their respective races.
