Kumbakonam Natyanjali opens on February 25

Kumbakonam: Natyanjali will be held at Sri Adhikumbeswaraswamy Temple at Kumbakonam on February 25, 26 and 27 under the auspices of Natyanjali Trust.

According to G.Rangaswamy Moopanar, chairman, Natyanjali Trust, the Natyanjali was shaped on the lines of Chidambaram Natyanjali and aimed at paying obeisance to Adhi Kumbeswaraswamy during Maha Sivarathiri.

Twelve dance recitals will be presented each day. This year important programmes include that of Anitha Rathnam, Padma Subramanyam, Anirudra Knight, grandson of Balasaraswathi.

Rathna Kumar from USA is performing Kuchupudiipudi.

Twenty students from Kathak Kendra, New Delhi, are also participating in the festival. Sangeetha Nataka Academi is sponsoring Kshatriya dance from Guwahati, Assam, and Chau dance from Mayurbanj in Orissa.
