Rupee declines further
MUMBAI:
The rupee slide gathered further momentum after sustained hectic dollar demand from corporates and importers amid a broader robust dollar drove it down to a one month closing low of 44.3450/3550 despite sliding global oil prices.
In a mostly nervous trading at the interbank foreign exchange market, the rupee declined by 9-1/2 paise from Wednesday's finish of 44.25/26 following a weak opening slot of 44.29/31 a dollar due to a resurgent dollar overseas. PTI
