Chamber wants Govt. to open more ITIs

SHIMLA: The PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry has urged the Himachal Government to go for a planned social and physical infrastructural development, especially by adopting better road connectivity, in the hilly terrain. In a statement released here on Thursday, the State PHDCCI spokesman, Yashwinder Dogra, said the State should enhance incentives for farming and rural enterprises so that there was in an increase in rural income and economic growth.

He demanded setting up of more ITIs and ATIs (Agricultural Technical Institutes) in the State.

The Chamber wanted the Government to invest in cold storage facilities, packing houses, logistics, processing facilities and marketing of the agricultural produce.

PHDCCI has also congratulated the Government for achieving a growth rate of 7.5 per cent for the year 2004-05.
