Man hurt while fleeing after theft bid

HUBLI: A man was injured while trying to escape after making an attempt to steal a motorcycle. He is undergoing treatment at Dharwad Civil Hospital.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday in the Dharwad Suburban Police Station limits.

Rasoolsab Babusab Tahsildar, a resident of Nehrunagar, Dharwad, tried to steal the motorcycle of Vadiraj Malagi residing at Radhakrishna Nagar in Dharwad, the police said.

It was around 1.30 a.m. that Rasoolsab tried to open the motorcycle's wheel lock. But Mr. Malagi came out of the house on hearing the noise. On seeing him, Rasoolsab tried to escape by jumping over the wall. He fell and got himself injured in the head, they said.

The police admitted him to the hospital.
