Two Maoist militants surrender

ANANTAPUR: Two key militants of CPI (Maoist) surrendered before the Additional SP (OSD) G. Vijaykumar on Wednesday night.

They also handed over seven crude bombs and revolutionary literature to the police.

The police said here on Thursday that Shankar of Narayanapuram and Pothanna of Yerraballi villages in Kothacheruvu mandal were actively involved in Maoists' activists. As a close associate of a former commander of Penukonda dalam Shankar used to help make crude bombs and supply explosives to Maoists.

Pothanna used to inform the Maoists about the movements of police and he was also providing food and shelter to them.
