Devotees have darshan of Mata

KARWAR: Nearly one lakh people had the darshan of Mata Amritanandamayi Devi at Maladevi ground here since Wednesday. The darshan, which began at 9.30 p.m. on Wednesday, concluded by Thursday noon. The Amritanandamayi Math announced setting up of Vriddhashrama, a home for the elderly at Sadashivgad, and launching of Amrita Nidhi, a pension scheme for destitute women.

Former Minister R.V. Deshpande unveiled the plaque of Vriddhashrama.
